50 poor students have a laptop each in Dhaka University from South-South Education Foundation. On Monday at a ceremony staged at Sonargaon Hotel, State Minister for Information Technology and Telecom Jonayed Ahmed Palak handed over laptop to the students. South-South Education, a laptop is a dream “campaign, under the cover of Computer Science and Engineering department of 10 people and Information Technology department, 40 students were given laptops.
Information Technology and Telecom state minister assured that the distribution program would continue from the part of South-South to build a digital Bangladesh. Then gradually laptop will be distributed to more than two thousand students in the public university. Meanwhile, it is decided that the country will get one million WiFi hotspots free of charge. The new generation will have the information-technology services.
To make Bangladesh digital, seven vocational Information Technology Academy will be built in seven divisions, he added.
